Just ordered this from Amazon a few days ago. Camcorder looks good and works well but has a high amount of noise on video screen. At first I thought it was broke but after reading all the reviews on this camera I found out this is normal and you have to set the ISO to 400 or below.
Still picture come out decent but I don't think it actually takes them at 8 MP. Video is barely average quality, good for backyard BBQ, pool parties and stuff like that. If great clear HD video is important to you then this is not the camcorder for you. I have a old 5.1 Nikon Coolpix digital camera and the pictures are much better with it. Overall I am satisfy with this camcorder because it feels rugged, sturdy, waterproof and I brought it for pool party, sporting events and just to have in my pocket for those late night embarrassing shots of friends. Get more detail about Sanyo Xacti VPC-E2 Digital Camcorder and 8 MP Digital Camera (Blue).
