We purchased this camera to take along on our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. Primarily, I wanted something to take snorkeling, but I found myself using the camera as an all-purpose camera as well. It's nice to know that as it started to rain, there was no need to worry about the camera.
The video is good quality for TV and a great quality for web. The camera is easy to use with very little learning curve. I purchased an 8 GB SDHC card to go with it and found that was plenty for goofing around the resort during the day. We'd download and clear it each night to a laptop and start fresh again the next day.
Some cons... The menu is a little quirky and the battery does not last very long at all. Some of the button placement could have been improved to make shooting easier, but that's minor. It's probably just a matter of me getting used to it. Also, no lens cap or cover. I knew this when I purchased it, but it's still a con.
All in all, for a couple hundred dollars, this camera gives a LOT of bang for the buck. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile vacation camera.Get more detail about Sanyo Xacti VPC-E2 Digital Camcorder and 8 MP Digital Camera (Blue).
